This is a two part project. You will be creating a character. With moving parts and a face.
Character I – Motion Cycle (15%) (Due: April 11, 2011 by 5pm)
Motion Cycles: design a character and create three separate motion loops for it/him/her: a walk cycle, a run cycle, and one other repetitive movement. Keep in mind secondary motion.
The length of each individual cycle is dependent upon how long it takes the character to make a complete movement before returning to its starting position.
The loop should be seamless. (That is, if I hit “repeat” on the video player, there will be no skips or jitters between cycles).
The cycle can be submitted in three files or 1 file.
Character II – Animation (15%) (Due: April 18, 2011 by 5pm)
With those motion cycles that you will now create a little story. Don’t forget sound, title and credits. (3o seconds)
How to submit:
- Upload to your dropbox in my courses in a zip file.
- The file format should be in a .mov
- .swf are not accepted
- Your file name should be in the format of FirstLast.zip (ex. JohnnyCash.zip).
- If you are doing your work in Flash, please upload your .fla file as well.
- Please upload to Vimeo/YouTube and email me a link.
Welcome!
This course blog will be your primary resource. Mycourses will still be used to post grades.
The course is designed to give Game Development and New Media students a taste of various types of animation and also an appreciation of what is involved in creating them.
